NEW NAVAL CHIEF

Rear Admiral Farid Habib has been appointed the Chief of the Naval Staff with effect from January 28, 2013.

He has also been promoted to the post of Vice Admiral from January 28, 2013.The new Navy chief will assume his office on January 28 as the incumbent Navy chief Vice Admiral Zahir Uddin Ahmed will go on retirement on that day.

Farid Habib was born in 1959 in Kalihati Upazila of Tangail. He was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy in 1979.
